On April 25th 2015 a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake rocked Nepal, bringing destruction and devastation to thousands of people. Hundreds of subsequent aftershocks, and especially the 6.9 magnitude shock on the 12th May, turned even more homes, schools and community buildings to rubble.

The direct impact of the 2015 earthquake was:

8,959 people killed

2.8 million people affected

26,272 people displaced

765 health facilities destroyed or damaged

35,000 classrooms destroyed or damaged

The Wishner5, partnering with Community Foundation of New Jersey and Himalayan Quests Foundation, Nepal are rebuilding as many of the 35,000 destroyed or damaged classrooms as they are able.
