With our support, Himalayan Quests Foundation has officially begun construction of the Simpani Health Post in Lamjung, Nepal. On 7th-8th February 2026, their team visited the site to Simpani village, Lamjung to officially initiate construction of the Simpani Health Post. After completing all required pre-construction administrative procedures, the project has now moved into its implementation phase.
This marks an important step towards strengthening local healthcare access in the region.
PURPOSE OF THE FIELD VISIT
The primary objectives of the visit were to:
• Initiate on-site construction activities
• Coordinate with contractors and stakeholders
• Introduce project objectives to the worker team
• Ensure smooth logistical arrangements
• Strengthen community alignment and support
The visit also focused on ensuring that the groundwork, both practical and relational, was firmly established before full-scale construction progressed.
STAKEHOLDER COORDINATION AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Any kind of community development project requires alignment between communities, local leadership and implementation teams.
During the visit:
• Meetings were held with community members to formally announce the commencement of construction following completion of administrative procedures.
• Coordination meetings took place with the contractor team regarding construction plans, timelines and execution strategy.
• Local leaders were engaged to ensure continued community support and shared ownership of the project.
• The project objectives were introduced to the worker team to ensure clarity of purpose and direction.
• Local raw materials, including rocks required for structural work, were facilitated to support initial construction activities.
This integrated approach ensures transparency, accountability and collective responsibility.
CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS: WORK OFFICIALLY UNDERWAY
The visit achieved its key milestone: construction has formally begun.
Current progress includes:
• Mobilisation of 15 construction workers at the project site
• Commencement of retaining wall construction for site preparation
The retaining wall is a foundational component, creating stable building space in the hilly terrain of Lamjung. Proper site preparation is essential to ensure long-term structural safety and durability.
LOOKING AHEAD
The field visit was productive and aligned with its intended objectives. With effective coordination among community members, local leaders, and the contractor team, the Simpani Health Post project has transitioned from planning to physical development.
The coming weeks will focus on continued structural work, site preparation, and steady construction progress.
